MIKKI WOOD is a garage punk band known for its raw energy, catchy melodies, and driving drums. Formed in 2018, the band has since built a following within the underground music scene. Drawing inspiration from the rawness of 60's garage rock and the DIY-spirit of the punk movement, MIKKI WOOD quickly became known for their high-energy live performances and distinctive sound.

The band was formed by a group of friends who had long been fans of bands like The Sonics, The Stooges, and The Velvet Underground. They wanted to put their own spin on the genre by experimenting with different styles, ranging from psychedelic rock to post-punk. MIKKI WOOD’s sound is a mix of raw energy, sharp guitar riffs, and tight rhythms. The band blends elements of garage rock, surf, and punk into an explosive fusion. Their lyrics are often nihilistic, sarcastic, and at times absurd. The influence of classic garage bands is clearly heard in their music.

In 2019 MIKKI WOOD released their debut EP, which quickly caught attention. The single “A Johnny Is A-Comin'” was praised for its catchy riff and playful lyrics. In 2024, they followed up with their debut album “High On The Moon,” which perfectly captured the raw energy of their live shows. This led to a spot in the 2024 Popronde, with a significant number of live performances. On stage, the band creates an atmosphere of total surrender, whether they’re playing in a small café or a larger venue. They always manage to bring the crowd into their performance. Since its formation, MIKKI WOOD has firmly embedded itself in the underground music scene, and the band continues to push new boundaries.
